Were you a Lecky? If so, did we not cross paths on the Baron Dunmore?

Sailed on the Baron Ardrossan in 1973 as Deck Cadet. Memorable trip ending in Fremantle "unexpectedly". Still living in Oz (originally from Stornoway). Long story - could write a book. If anyone remembers me it would be great to hear from you.

I sailed in the Baron Ogilvy as Jr R/O in 1962.Crew as I remember were Capt.Mc Kenzie from Bearsden.2nd mate Nial Mc Nab from Furnace Argyll.3rd Mate Bob Middleton from Inverary.Cadet John Campbell from near Perth.Sandy Kelman Eng.East Kilbride.Jimmy Mc Arthur EDH from Islay and chief R/O from Dunoon John Docherty a real gent.

Joined in Greenock and had to put first stabbing off with pilot at "tail of Bank"..Glasgow and Greenock crew !! DR was a status symbol.Three month trip lasted 11 months. BOT rations fab way to lose weight and never seen a kipper cut into 3 pieces..Companies men got two pieces.Chasing about ocean looking for rain water.Broken down off Aleutians for 8 days .Capt said not to talk to other ships did,nt want them to know we were broken down.We rolled to 47Deg.!!! Max was calculaed at 49Deg.or she would,nt come back.

What a trip Jesus......Next ship Empress of Britain bit different.I think three crew got another status symbol on paying off.Hogarths were the only c
